Coronavirus: Google and Bing are working to provide a digital solution

Google and Corona

How digital technology can help solve worldwide challenges

The coronavirus (COVID-19) is spreading around the world and the two major search engines are working hard to provide Internet users with the tools they need to track the disease (Coronavirus).

Bing, on the other hand, offers a statistical tracking map of the disease, a truly remarkable tool in terms of interface, very simple and user-friendly, displaying, country by country, the number of people infected, the number of cases cured and the number of deaths.

As for Google, it is working – via its subsidiary Verily, a specialist in the health sector for the past few days in San Francisco – on a website that allows the detection of the disease: “We are in the process of designing a tool to help people who need a COVID-19 test. Verily is in the early stages of development (of the website) and plans to start testing it in the San Francisco area first, hoping to expand it more widely later. If you would like to take the COVID-19 test, simply fill out an online survey based on guidelines from public health officials.

Based on the responses and the availability of test appointments, it will tell you whether or not testing is necessary.
